Healing Peptide
BPC-157
About BPC-157
BPC-157, short for Body Protection Compound-157, is a synthetic peptide derived from a protein found in human gastric juice. It's used primarily for tissue healing, gut repair, and injury recovery. The research on it is mostly animal studies, but the anecdotal reports from the peptide community are extensive.
People use it for tendon and ligament injuries, gut issues like leaky gut or IBS, and general recovery from surgery or training. The typical dose is 250 to 500 mcg per day, injected subcutaneously near the injury site or in the abdomen for systemic effects.
It's often stacked with TB-500 for enhanced healing, a combination sometimes called the "Wolverine stack."
Onset and what to expect
Many people report feeling something within the first few days, especially for gut issues. For tendon and joint injuries, noticeable improvement usually starts around week 2 to 3. Full healing protocols typically run 4 to 8 weeks.
The effect is cumulative. Don't expect overnight results on a chronic injury, but it's one of the faster-acting healing peptides in terms of when you start noticing a difference.
Side effects
BPC-157 is generally well tolerated. The most commonly reported side effects are mild: nausea, dizziness, and headache, though these are relatively rare. Some people report feeling warm or flushed after injection.
There's a theoretical concern about BPC-157 promoting blood vessel growth (angiogenesis), which could be problematic if you have existing tumors. No human clinical trials have confirmed this, but it's worth being aware of if you have a relevant medical history.
Storage and reconstitution
Refrigerate at 36 to 46°F after reconstitution. Lyophilized (powder) form is more stable and can be stored at room temperature before reconstitution. Once you add bacteriostatic water, use it within 28 days.
BPC-157 is a small peptide and dissolves quickly. Add the water slowly down the side of the vial and it should be fully dissolved within a minute without much swirling.
